Master Printer, Mark Mahaffey is proficient in many forms of printmaking, specializing in lithography and intaglio. As a collaborator he is intuitive to the artist's needs and effective in suggesting materials and innovative combinations of different print media. He is continually experimenting with the newest technology and expanding his printmaking methods.
Before starting his own studio he worked at three of the most influential print workshops in the United States: Gemini G.E.L. in Los Angeles, Tyler Graphics Ltd. in New York, and Hand Graphics in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Mark operates the studio with his wife, Rae Mahaffey. (Rae’s work) The printmaking studios occupy the main and lower floors of the Joseph Bergman House. The house, a Victorian Italianate, is listed on the National Registry of Historic Places. It is located in the popular Northwest, Nob Hill neighborhood, which is convenient to downtown, galleries, restaurants, and Washington Park.
